Stratus Racing Group was formed out of a previous business relationship between Derrike Cope and Dale Clemons.   The two came together late in the 2008 season with Dale bringing primary sponsorship to Derrike's team through his company, Vangle, Inc.  The relationship continued throughout the 2009 season with Dale securing a multi-race sponsorship with flipnbags.com and EZPCBackup.com. 

After the season, Dale and Derrike came together and formed an alliance in Stratus Racing Group, Inc.  This alliance will allow Derrike to focus strictly on race operations, while Dale secures sponsorship and manages administration for the team. 

Stratus Racing Group has secured sponsorship for 2010 and plans to run a full schedule in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and Nationwide Series.  The team will also be competing on a limited schedule in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series in conjunction with Gary Keller of CKR.
